Riviera del Brenta

The Brenta Riviera is located in a strategically important area, because it takes only a few minutes from the cities of Padua and Venice.

The Riviera is crossed by the Brenta Canal which starts in Stra, flows through Fiesso d'Artico, Dolo, Mira to culminate in Fusina, the last town on the mainland overlooking the Venice Lagoon.

Being the ideal extension of Venice on the mainland, the Brenta Riviera lived between the 17th and 18th century a golden age which turned it into a privileged holiday Resort for rich venetian patricians and so it is now surrounded by dozens of antique palatial dotting the banks of this ancient river.

Visit the Villas of the Brenta Riviera is highly interesting from historical, cultural and artistic point of view.

The most famous villas of the Brenta Riviera, starting from Malcontenta are:

Villa Foscari called "La Malcontenta" built in 1559 by Andrea Palladio, (the Sky was frescoed by Zalotti). It is located near Mira, along the Brenta Canal.

Villa Widmann or Barchessa Valmarana of Mira was built in the 18th century.

Villa Querini in Mira-Porte '600.

Villa Ferretti - Angels of Dolo.

VILLA PISANI built in the 18th century, is the most important and best known one, with its frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo, the summer residence of the Doge, also famous for its Labyrinth love made of boxwood hedges (one of three hedge mazes survived until now in Italy). It has hosted famous personalities wich Napoleon Bonaparte and many others.
